Major AzETA recent projects include:


1. Establishing Enjoy English Clubs for children in 5 regions of Azerbaijan (December 2007 – October 2008) with the financial support of the US Embassy

2. English Access Microscholarship Programme for children from the underprivileged families funded by the US State Department (2006 – 2010)

3. Charity concert of a famous pop singer on 24 November 2007 towards the expenses of educating 2 orphans to study at the universities

4. 4th International ELT Conference held on 8-10 2007 in Baku with the financial and organisational support of the British Council and the US Embassy

5. English Classes for journalists (November 2007 – May 2008) with the financial support of Azercell and organisational support of the US Embassy

6. In-service Teacher Training for the members of AzETA branches (launched in October 2006 and is a sustainable project) funded from AzETA membership fee budget

7. Enjoy English Summer Camp 3 on 19-26 August 2007 with the financial support of KCA Deutag, Community Shield Azerbaijan, Rolls Royce and AzETA

8. Regional Conference in Qebele – sponsored by the US Embassy, the British Council and AzETA held in Ay Ishigi Resort Centre in Qebele on 26 May 2007

9. Enjoy English Club 3rd conference on 18 October 2006 for children with the financial support of IREX and AzETA

10. Cross-Regional Network Association (2006 – 2008) with the financial support of the Soros Foundation (a joint regional project implemented in collaboration with the Teachers Association of Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgystan)

11. 3rd AzETA ELT Conference - sponsored by the US Embassy – Azerbaijan, the British Council – Azerbaijan held in Baku Slavic University on 8-10 September 2006

12. International Forum of Teachers’ Associations sponsored by Hornby Trust, held in Sheki on 7 September 2006

13. Enjoy English Summer Camp 2 for orphans organised in Qebele and Sheki on 19-27 August 2006 with the financial support of Panalpina, AMEC, Community Shield Azerbaijan and AzETA

14. Newly Qualified Teacher Training Project (2006 – 2008) with the financial support of the British Council (a joint international project implemented in collaboration with the Teachers Association of Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia andGeorgia)

15. Outreach Teacher Training in 4 regions of Azerbaijan with the financial support of Open Society Institute – Assistance Foundation (2004 – 2005 (Phase 1) and 2007 – 2008 (Phase 2))
