Scholarships to attend AzETA 7th International ELT Conference
|
In its history, for the first time AzETA offered 3 types of scholarships to its members to attend AzETA 5th International ELT Conference in November 2008. Unfortunately, nobody applied for the scholarship. AzETA continues encouraging its members to benefit from this unique opportunity to attend AzETA 7th International ELT Conference to be held on 13-14 November 2010.
Funding for these scholarships will be from AzETA membership fee, Conference registration fee and relevant SIG budget.
FIRST TIME SPEAKER
This scholarship will be covered from the AzETA membership fee and 7th Conference budget. The aim is to encourage and empower new members and attract more members to AzETA.
Criteria for application:
„« A new AzETA member (membership less than 1 year);
„« Comes from a region of Azerbaijan;
This scholarship is offered to 1 member. The scholarship will cover:
„« free registration for the 5th Conference
„« transportation expenses
„« Conference allowance
„« If required, free accommodation (either in a host family or a hotel)
Required documents:
Copy of AzETA membership card
One passport-size photo
Conference presenter registration form with required biodata, abstract and summary of the presentation
Deadline for application is 30 June 2010.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
Successful applicants will have to write an article for November-December 2010 issue of AzETA News Bulletin on their impressions and will have to provide Materials Development SIG with the full text of the presentation.
TEACHER TRAINING SIG SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be covered from the Teacher Training SIG membership fee and 7th Conference budget. The aim is to encourage and empower members of this SIG and promote it among AzETA members throughout the country.
Criteria for application:
„« A fully paid individual AzETA member with, at least, 3 year membership;
„« A member from a region of Azerbaijan;
„« Membership with AzETA Teacher Training SIG for at least 1 year;
„« Participation in a training organised by AzETA
„« Commitment to give a presentation at the 7th Conference
This scholarship is offered to 2 members. The scholarship will cover:
„« free registration for the 7th Conference
„« transportation expenses
„« Conference allowance
„« If required, free accommodation (either in a host family or a hotel)
Required documents:
Copy of AzETA membership card
One passport-size photo
Conference presenter registration form with required biodata, abstract and summary of the presentation
Proof of membership with Teacher Training SIG (either from the respective Branch Manager or Teacher Training SIG Co-ordinator)
Deadline for application is 30 June 2010.

NEWLY QUALIFIED TEACHER TRAINING SIG SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be covered from the NQT SIG membership fee and 7th Conference budget. The aim is to encourage and empower members of this SIG and promote it among newly qualified English teachers of the country.
Criteria for application:
„« A fully paid individual AzETA member;
„« Membership with AzETA NQT SIG for at least 1 year;
„« Participation in AzETA NQT Project training sessions;
„« Commitment to give a presentation at the 5th Conference;
„« Applicants from the regions will be given priority.
This scholarship is offered to 2 members. The scholarship will cover:
„« free registration for the 5th Conference
„« transportation expenses
„« Conference allowance
„« If required, free accommodation (either in a host family or a hotel)
Required documents:
Copy of AzETA membership card
One passport-size photo
Conference presenter registration form with required biodata, abstract and summary of the presentation
Proof of membership with NQT SIG (either from the respective Branch Manager or NQT SIG Co-ordinator)
