Sheki Branch 5th Anniversary

On 3 October 2009 AzETA members from Baku, Goygol, Lenkaran, Qebele came to Sheki to celebrate 5th anniversary of establishment of the Sheki Branch.

Sheki Branch was established on 9 April 2004. Since its establishment Sheki Branch became one of the most active branches of AzETA. In these 5 years the Branch joined a series of projects implemented by AzETA, including Outreach Teacher Training (2004-2007), Student Government Association (2005-2007), English Access Microscholarship Programme (2007 - 2011), International Forum of Teachers' Associations (2006), Study Tours of AzETA Branches (2007-2008), Branch management training (2009) etc.
The Branch very closely co-operates with Peace Corps Volunteers thanks to whom now the Branch has power point presentation opportunities (equipment for this has been purchased under Small Grants Project of the PCVs), repaired the office, purchased required office equipment.
Besides AzETA members, PCVs from Sheki, Oguz, Tovuz also joined the celebration. PCVs from Oguz and Tovuz were very interested in establishing an AzETA branch in their respective regions.
EAMP students were very active in celebration. They congratulated their teachers with their songs, dances, poems and performances. At the end of the event, certificates of graduation were presented to the EAMP students of the Project 3 (2007-2009).

The official celebration was followed by a reception hosted by the Sheki Branch. As 5 October is celebrated as Teachers' Day in Azebraijan, a special cake was also prepared for the occasion.

The event was organised at the Sheki Branch of Azerbaijan Teachers' Institute. AzETA acknowledges the leadership of the Institute for co-operation and regular support to AzETA Sheki Branch. |
