AzETA held a fundraising charity marathon in March-August 2006 with the aim of organising a summer camp for the orphans-beneficiaries of AzETA English Language Project. AzETA organised such a summer camp in August 2005. More information on that summer camp is available on Archive page of our website.
To make the marathon more interesting, AzETA Young Learners Special Interest Group held a writing competition among the Enjoy English Club members. In collaboration with the AzETA Testing and Assessment SIG the selection committee awarded 1 member of EEC (Nermin Ismayilova) with the second prize and 2 members of EEC (Ozal Aliyev and Slava Cherkashin) with the third prize. The awards were presented to the winners on the 1 June. On this date AzETA held a charity concert dedicated to the International Day of Defence of Children. With the kind support of AzETA members Qizildash children-beneficiaries of AzETA English Project for the orphans residing in the dormitory of the Technical-Vocational Lyceum #8 in Qizildash could also join the concert. Special guests of the concert were Quinta Woodward of Community Shield Azerbaijan, Cultural Attaches of the Embassies of Turkey and Japan, Eddie McGee, Senior English Language Fellow, Catherine Tompson, short-term English Language Fellow of the US Embassy. We acknowledge all of them for their support.
